Welcome

My family and I were visiting a friend at Cook County Jail in Chicago. Outside was a little table with a few brochures and signs announcing that if one needed prayer one could have it. A nice gentlemen prayed with us there on the sidewalk in front of the jail. We were helped and comforted. Looking through the glass front of the building as we waited in the security line I saw that though not everyone wanted to pray, a good number did. When a loved one became ill I was with her in the hospital and though I so appreciated the services of the chaplain I also knew that chaplaincy services were extremely busy. I would have loved to have a "pop-up" prayer as a I went in and out of the hospital, just as we had had at Cook County Jail. I was given this blessing and I hope to pass it on to others!
